PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Contemporary dance choreographer Andrea Boll has produced four DownTown Tours as part of the Zurich Tanzt festival.

Here, she invites five dancers from the TeKi TeKua dance company to immerse themselves into the old town of Zurich, showing how women give meaning to the world through dance and how individuals live both inside and outside of this world.

No corner is missed, every square and every alleyway are explored. Frank, exuberant, and with troubling sensuality, fierce charm, and unbridled femininity, the dancers examine the town in minute detail, along with the participants, in search of the most ephemeral nook and cranny, creating a sensation of freedom yet belonging.

For those who wish to discover Zurich with their body, in a context that is both different and absurd.

Itinerary

The tour begins at the Kulturhaus Helferei, near the Grossmünster. We then climb towards the Obere Zäune. After a brief interlude on a play area and in a bookshop, we head in the direction of the Spiegelgasse, before losing ourselves in the old town of Zurich. The tour ends at the Rathausbrücke.

The DownTown Tour is interactive. No dance experience is required, but participants must enjoy movement and surprises!
